Crafted Black 🍻
"Hey Tee you want a beer? No thank you, I don't drink beer. Well, you're in San Diego so you have to." *hands me a glass of beer* San Diego County has more craft breweries than any other county in the United States. The only beers I had prior to moving to San Diego were Bud Light, Corona, and Dos Equis. I wasn't really a fan of the taste of beer let alone even know what craft beer was! *where's the liquor?!* Little did I know that San Diego would change all of that. With breweries and craft beer lovers at my disposal people began to let me taste different beers and educate me on the different flavors, styles, and brewing process for each. With each sip my taste buds starting convincing me that beer isn't so bad after all. I wouldn't call myself a craft beer connoisseur but let's just say I can sit in a brewery, know what I want, what my palette should expect with different beers and might even remember the brewing process for what I ordered. As I began to visit more breweries and fall in love with the unique environment that each offered I noticed the small percentage of Black people that I had encountered which began my search of Black Owned Breweries and Black craft beer lovers. I stumbled upon several Black Owned Breweries, events such as Fresh Fest and platforms such as Dope & Dank, Black x Crafty, Beer Kulture, and Black Beer Blog for Black people who love craft beer that off different platforms for new beer, events, merchandise, and community of fellow craft beer lovers!.
